A billet is a section of metal used for rolling into bars, rods and sections. It can be produced with ingots or directly by continuous casting.
MS Billets are semi-finished casting product produced in a steel mill that need to be further processing to transform it into finished good. It is a round or square cross-sectioned metal length which is created directly by the process of continuous casting or by indirectly hot rolling an ingot.
One of the most important materials needed for high-quality construction is steel, which is consumed in form of bars and the best raw material to produce high-quality steel bars is MS Billets. Omsairam Steels & Alloys Pvt.Ltd, produces ideal billets that result in top quality steel bars. One of the major steel bar/TMX bar producers in Jalna, company’s melting division and rolling division are situated at a very close distance in the same industrial area.
MS Billets are semi-finished products used to roll mills for the construction of long products like wire rods. Billets are generally smaller in size. When the cross-section of casting is a square, it is referred to as a billet.
Omsairam Steels & Alloys Pvt.Ltd manufactures square billets of size 100100 sq.mm, 110110 sq.mm, 125125 sq.mm, 160160 sq.mm, in Jalna . Ms billets manufacturers in Jalna uses Induction furnaces and continuous casting machine for billets manufacturing.
Ms billet manufacturing process is a two stage process. The first stage consists of feeding M.S. Melting scrap, Sponge Iron, Pig Iron and other alloys in the induction furnace and then melting it to a liquid state by applying electrical power. The melted liquid is poured into a ladle. The induction furnace / continuous casting machine section is a mostly automated unit with manual operations at some places.
In second stage, the molten metal in the ladle is taken to the continuous casting billet machine and is poured in it. The metal solidifies in the machine & casted billet of required size is obtained.
Ms billets are used for mechanical engineering works such as manufacturing machines and their parts. Steel billets are used for production of plate, sheets, strips, rod etc.
